Dental PPO plans do not require you to choose a primary care dentist. Instead, you can choose any dentist in or out of network, though your costs may be higher with out-of-network dentists. You may also save on other services when you see an in-network dentist. Humana has several different dental PPO plan options. Here are a couple of the most popular Humana dental PPO plan options:
Humana’s Bright Plus plan
Bright Plus is a PPO dental insurance plan that helps you keep up with regular exams and cleanings with no waiting periods. Bright Plus benefits include:
$100 per year in-office teeth whitening allowance, not subject to deductible or waiting periods
$50 deductible for individuals and a $150 deductible for families
2 fully covered routine oral exams and cleanings per year with in-network dentists
No waiting period for covered preventive services
Access to the nationwide Humana PPO dental insurance network of more than 325,000 dentists*
Humana’s Bright Plus plan is available to residents in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Utah and Wisconsin.
Humana’s Preventive Plus plan
Like Humana’s Bright Plus dental plan, our Preventive Plus is also a PPO dental insurance plan that focuses on the most common types of dental care: preventive and basic services. Preventive Plus benefits include:
$50 deductible for individuals and a $150 deductible for families
2 fully covered routine oral exams and cleanings per year with in-network dentists
No waiting periods for preventive care services
Access to the nationwide Humana PPO dental insurance network of more than 325,000 dentist locations*
Discounts may be available for some major services, as well as adult and child orthodontic care. (Actual benefits vary by state.)
Humana’s Preventive Plus plan is available to residents of Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
PPO dental insurance discounts
Members may receive a discount from in-network providers for services not covered by the Bright Plus plan or Preventive Plus plan (including major dental services and orthodontia). However, out-of-pocket expenses for these non-covered services don’t apply to any deductible or annual maximum.
