Job description

The Autonomous Municipality of Caguas proposes four full-time AmeriCorps members who will leverage an existing community service engagement in disaster services in Caguas, Puerto Rico. The AmeriCorps members will engage at least 200 community members and grassroots leaders and 17 community organizations in volunteer disaster services to prepare, respond and recover from several types of disasters (hurricanes, earthquakes, and epidemics). Of them, at least 130 community members and grassroots leaders will report increased disaster readiness, and at least 12 communities will increase their efficiency, effectiveness, and disaster-related program reach. They will expand their disaster services to address COVID 19 in communities as links with the services provided by the Caguas Municipality and its allies. This Program are for Caguas residents.

Member Duties : The Four Full Time AmeriCorps members will engage at least 200 community members and grassroots leaders and 17 organized community organizations in volunteer disaster services to prepare, respond, and recover from several types of disasters. The Americorps members will be trained to become disaster safety prevention and reaction community promoters to assist the 17 high-risk communities in drafting their own disaster emergency plans.
