Job Title: Construction Manager

Full time
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Plans, directs, and coordinates construction operations to deliver projects on time and on budget while accomplishing the goals and objectives of the projects.
· Directs and/or provides leadership to construction coordinators and personnel for managing construction operations involved with UII engineering designs
· Validates team is adhering to applicable federal and local laws while maintaining compliance with Orbital and/or Client safety guidelines
· Utilizes understanding of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) Standards, Client Standards, Federal, State or Local Municipal Guidelines, and/or other applicable guidelines to manage team through safe and accurate construction operations
· Collaborates with construction coordinators, engineering designers and permitting team to determine full scope of project construction
· Schedules work and obtains required permits, according to project timelines or contractual agreements and assigns team personnel to appropriately meet agreement terms
· Facilitates and executes all required outage and/or switching requirements for construction with appropriate client personnel
· Acquires and manages all necessary construction equipment and materials while reconciling bill of materials and/or as-builts, takes any needed corrective action
· Responsible for development of customer proposals, including detailed technical scope, schedule, budget, and resource management.
· Regularly interfaces directly with clients, contractors, private property owners, and the public to verify construction projects are executed in alignment with project scope
· Communicate potential strategic initiatives or departmental risks to internal management team
· Regularly works with internal stakeholders to verify team has necessary resources to remain productive and effective
· Provides personnel orientation/training, mentorship, coaching, and disciplinary action/mentoring of staff.
· Completes quality assurance practices on construction operations to verify conformance with quality standards and requirements
· Supports performance evaluations for project team members
· Can endure frequent driving, standing, walking (numerous miles a day), navigating (on foot or in a vehicle), and balancing objects which may weigh up to 20 pounds in congested and/or complex terrain
· Must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions and in residential, commercial, and industrial areas
· Work is primarily in the field with minimum time in an office environment
· Will be required to attend meetings at clients sites and regularly interact with the general public, including landowners
· May occasionally enter energized extra-high voltage substations up to 745kV and will need to coordinate with appropriate utility personnel throughout fielding activities within this location
· Responsible for managing and evaluating change orders and scope deviations
