Performs a variety of duties in order to provide a clean and safe environment for all residents, visitors, and staff following all policies, procedures and guidelines.
SCOPE OF JOB
Assists in the preparation and delivery of certain food items, as assigned and the manual warewashing of serviceware and equipment (pots, pans, cooking equipment, etc.).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates, promotes and integrates the mission of the Mercy Community and its Core Values in daily work activities.
Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Customer satisfaction and focus on quality improvement are evident in all aspects of work. Promotes and supports the philosophy, goals and objectives of the department. Dedicated to providing services, which anticipate and exceed resident and family expectations.
Assist the cook with the preparation and distribution of food items to the dining rooms.
Properly sets-up the manual warewashing station and dish machine and monitors the sanitizer solution concentration and temperatures at each meal using the appropriate form to document compliance with state regulatory standards; Routinely changing soap, rinse water and sanitizer in manual warewashing sinks.
Returns all cleaned, sanitized and dried serviceware to the appropriate personnel and/or storage areas to assure readiness for the next meal.
Cleans, sanitizes, removes refuse and recyclables from work stations and equipment as assigned (including the walk refrigerator, reach ins, storerooms. and freezer) and must follow regulatory rules and procedures utilizing appropriate PPE and chemicals in accordance with MSDS paperwork.
Cleans, sanitizes and delivers hydration stations.
Follows all safety, security, infection control (including Category I Universal Precautions) and hazardous materials policies and procedures; performs all tasks to assure resident and personal safety and the protection of colleagues and (facility) property .
Maintains general sanitation of the Kitchen, chemical storeroom, and loading dock in accordance with assigned job tasks .
Maintains high standards of business and ethical conduct in accordance with applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations including fraud, waste and abuse . Avoids activities, which could result in a conflict of interest.

Promotes and participates in educational programs, both formally and informally to include outside educational programs. Annually attends all required educational programs including at least one session each year of the following: fire safety, general facility/unit safety, infection control, disaster response, hazard communication, resident rights/resident abuse law, corporate compliance, mission and annual PPD requirements.
