Responsible for processing & underwriting applications for applicants seeking assistance with rent, utilities and homelessness stability services through state emergency funding provided. Must have prior customer service experience, family intervention or social work experience and/or experience working with individuals seeking federal governmental assistance.
Some of the key functions for this position are as follows: Accessing and using the online application portal to review applications for rent and utility assistance. Ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate. Staying current on all U.S. Treasury requirements for the ERA program.
Responding to questions posed by applicants regarding their eligibility, required documentation, and/or how to complete the application as needed.
Coordinating with Accounting to move approved applications on for payment according to established policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge of, and experience with, federal programs, laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies applicable to the U.S. Treasury Department’s ERA program.
Experience processing applications for government assistance. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Strong customer service skills and experience. Ability to work accurately at a fast pace, and always remain result oriented.
Ability to use independent judgement and discretion in managing situations and customers to resolve problems with positive outcomes.
Prior experience in underwriting, federal compliance, finance, accounting and/or high-volume application processing. At least three years of experience related to processing applications for government assistance and/or working with housing or utility related programs.
WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT):
Team Member will work up to 40 hours/week and may be required to occasionally work in the evenings and/or on weekends to achieve agency performance and productivity goals. Team Member will be working remotely, and in-person, masks and COVID-19 protocols are encouraged.
