Pediatric Physiatrist
Job description
Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital is looking for a BC/BE Pediatric Rehabilitation Physician (double boarded or fellowship trained), to join their growing Pediatric Rehabilitation Hospital. The physician would be sharing in coverage of the inpatient pediatric rehabilitation unit with 20 beds, average daily census @ 12 patients. The new pediatric rehabilitation physician will be supported and encouraged to grow an outpatient practice in their areas of interest. There are opportunities to do acute care consultations and multidisciplinary collaboration with two large acute care hospital systems with Trauma, NICU and PICU programs. There will also be opportunities to work with Pediatric and PM&R residents from 4 large health systems. Good Shepherd is the only pediatric rehabilitation provider in the U.S. to offer three sizes of Trexo robotic gait training technology.

JOB SUMMARY

Provides state-of-the art physiatric care for Good Shepherd patients and supports the Good Shepherd Mission. Provides services in a 20 bed inpatient pediatric unit and outpatient satellites and consultation services at acute care hospitals in the greater Lehigh Valley area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

CONTRIBUTE TO THE FINANCIAL HEALTH OF THE GROUP
- By covering direct expenses.
- To be completed for Program Medical Directors only.
- For rehabilitation patients.
- For physiatrist consultations when needed.
- For physiatrist inpatient, outpatient and consulting services as needed.
- To support clinical activities regularly.
- To any assigned residents or medical students.
- That may incur contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
- In understanding the range of treatment and knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the age of the patients’ services.
- To improve the organization and all of those served.
- For coverage of inpatients/outpatients.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Residency training and clinical experience in diagnosis, medical and rehabilitation management of patients with impairments related to neurologic, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary and other general disorders required
- Previous experience in diagnosis of medical and rehabilitation management of patients required
- Board Certified/Board Qualified Physiatrist required
- Pennsylvania State Medical License required
