Description:
The QA Micro Technician is primarily responsible for conducting daily review of production records and releasing product to shippable status for the distribution center. The Document Control Technician is also responsible for reviewing incoming ingredients and packaging material documentation and completing defective material reports for all materials with quality defects. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Review daily production sanitation and process paperwork. Give releases based on records being in compliance.
Complete production data review in IQS system.
Input finished product holds in HOLDit based upon paperwork review if necessary. Input ingredient or packaging material holds based on material quality issues.
Track ingredient and material holds weekly. Contact suppliers for all DMR's issued.
Troubleshoot noncompliance issues found in paperwork review (includes but is not limited to out of spec batches, capping, temperature issues etc.)
Approve all incoming product labels upon receipt.
Complete hold area audit to ensure material holds stay isolated properly.
Review BOL's and MARS to ensure system accuracy. Ensure that all material documentation is in compliance before being filed.
Complete system actions in SAP for ingredients or packaging items that have been placed on hold.
Complete traceability audits as needed to be incompliance with AIB, Food Safety and other regulatory audits.
Assist in the training of all team members on quality parameters specs and policies.
Ensure that assigned lab equipment is calibrated on the correct frequency.
Ensure that production paperwork is replenished on a daily basis/as needed in the team room.
Assist with Quality projects / R & D testing as required.
Ensure compliance to all Food Safety and GMP Procedures. Requirements: MINIMUM SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • A minimum of 3 years of Quality Assurance / Lab experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • General knowledge of Quality Systems, AIB and Food Safety Programs
  • Capable of completing data analysis and interpreting data, and taking action from data details.
  • High level of organization, time management and attention to detail (documentation, specifications, etc.)
  • Must be self-directed, and prepared to take on additional responsibilities when asked
  • Strong technical skills a must
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate initiative
  • Possess leadership capabilities
  • Must be a team player
  • Willingness to work Over Time
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be able to be trained in sensory analysis and microbiology
  • Must be proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Participate in TPM and other duties as assigned
