Position Title: Quality Technician Reports to: Quality Manager Location: Forest VACompany Conformance Statements:
The QA Inspector has primary responsibility for identifying manufacturing and process related issues.
- Perform quality work within guidelines and effectively communicate with management, distribution personnel, production team, and any other personnel with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers
- Be on time to work and communicate absences in advance. Coordinate vacations to ensure floor coverage is maintained.
- Communicate with distribution personnel when moving products between Dillard and Blairs
- Position is to support manufacturing schedule and may change as production demands require. Overtime is expected to be worked per the posted production schedule.
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers
- Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.
- Perform all required duties as assigned and to the best of your ability
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Position Purpose: The QA Inspector is responsible for the assurance of quality throughout the company through verification, audit, inspection, investigation, documentation, and analysis. The primary responsibility is to ensure that all finished goods fully meet customer expectations and that processes are followed.
Responsibilities/ Duties/ Functions/Tasks:
- Inspection, monitoring and documentation of Product Quality
- Responsible to ensure finished product are inspected, meet specifications, and are approved.
- Responsible to ensure adequate QA presence on each manufacturing line and other assignments as needed.
- Review work orders and batch records for each finished product have accurately documented all materials and reflect the actual materials used to create the finished candle.
- Monitor the production line to ensure each line is following required SOPs, Work Orders, and product specifications. Quarantine products as necessary.
- Document the review and approval of batch records and products per SOPs. Document daily metrics. Document Non Conformances
- Conduct inventory audits, incoming inspection, monitor temperature, ensure accurate labeling and packaging. Audit processing areas.
- Reporting, investigating and analyzing potential Quality incidents
- Daily document and report all quality issues which fail to meet the requirements of the BOM for the product
- Investigate failures and discuss with management possible solutions which might prevent the error from reoccurring.
