Job Title: Outbound Lead (Newell Service Network)
Location: Victorville, CA
Job Description Summary:
Effectively perform a variety of shipping or receiving tasks that ensures the continuous operations of the Inbound and Outbound departments.
Reporting Structure:
The Outbound Lead reports to the Outbound Supervisor.
Job Description:
- Assists with the start-ups of the shifts by coordinating and directing the placement of employees in their respective departments and when necessary, train employees on tasks to be performed. Informs the supervisor of the specific manpower requirements needed to properly staff the departments.
- Ensures product quality. Provides employees in shipping or receiving with continuous instruction on proper techniques and procedures. Performs follow-up checks during the shift and provides management with feedback regarding the performance of individual employees.
- Assists with the preparation and the directing of the workflow that occur during the shift and, when applicable, help prepare for the oncoming shift's work requirements.
- Informs their supervisor of any safety hazards.
- Assists with the daily recordkeeping requirements (i.e Cost per carton: Bulk loads, LTL ; Trailer In & Out Report: Daily Attendance, Housekeeping log, etc.), as directed by the supervisor.
- Ensure all equipment and areas are kept clean, free of obstructions and organized at all times.
- Records manpower changes (additions/deletions to the shipping/receiving departments).
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment - adhering to the safety and 5-S standards of the facility.
- Partners and collaborates with other leads to maintain a balanced workflow and to efficiently utilize available resources.
- Reports on department issues and problems and related employee issues to the Supervisor for resolution.
- Recommends disciplinary action to supervisor as needed.
- Ability to instruct and oversee other employees. Basic leadership skills/Traits are a must have.

- Performs other duties as needed.
Experience:
- Minimum H.S Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ year(s) experience working in a Distribution Center setting
- 1+ years of leadership, supervisory experience in an industrial setting, i.e., Coordinator, Supervisor, Team Lead.
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
- SAP/PKMS experience preferred but not required.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum H.S Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ year(s) experience working in a Distribution Center setting
- 1+ years of leadership, supervisory experience in an industrial setting, i.e., Coordinator, Supervisor, Team Lead.
- Work experience in the shipping and or receiving function of a large distribution center environment.
- Active involvement in engagement activities including safety committee, employee council.
- Exposure to a variety of distribution center functions, i.e., Shipping, receiving, transportation, inventory control, understanding of product flow throughout DC.
