We are hiring a Senior AI/ML Engineer to develop and deploy a scalable AI solution to achieve our vision of creating equity and inclusion in STEM education by bridging the gap in the availability of accessible STEM educational materials. This is a hands-on technical role where you will spend most of your time designing, coding, and implementing AI-based solutions, along with ongoing evaluation of model performance both in isolation as well as using results from production use cases. The potential candidate must have proven expertise using deep learning and computer vision to help promote numerous strategic business outcomes and drive innovation.
Investigate and experiment with new model architectures to improve existing models, training pipelines, and run-time inference performance
Creatively balance the demands of production-level software engineering with exploratory research and development
Work with teams to develop and improve ML pipelines that go all the way from R&D to at-scale deployment
Be part of a Scrum-based software development team, attending daily standup, writing quality code, and reflecting on our process each sprint
Collaborate with product management, user experience, and engineering groups to develop new products and features.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship guidance to help team members perform, deliver, and grow
Qualifications and Core Competencies
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant field or equivalent experience
At least five years' experience in designing, building, and deploying production scale software and AI platform/solutions to solve real-world problems
Experience developing, troubleshooting, validating, optimizing and deploying deep learning models for diverse computer vision tasks (e.g. segmentation, recognition and classification) using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other deep learning frameworks
Experience in REST API development and NoSQL design
Experience developing and working with large datasets
Experience with MLOps and the lifecycle of model development from experimentation to production and measurement
Self-starter and self-motivated with the proven ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
Experience with cloud deployments, focused on automation, scale, performance, and reliability. AWS experience preferred.
Familiarity and experience with accessibility and accessible document formats
