  • The position’s primary purpose is to conceptualize and write copy that effectively communicates AMC Theatres’ marketing messages.
  • A principal objective for this position is to maximize the impact of AMC Theatres’ marketing by developing strategically sound creative materials.
  • Additional objectives are to ensure quality and consistency throughout strategic, brand-focused creative materials, to help create concepts and copy for all department programs and promotions, and to collaborate with creative leadership to develop future branding solutions.

Do you speak in movie quotes? Have a movie moment that changed your life? If you love movies, and you have a way with words, you may be a perfect fit for us! The AMC Theatres creative team is in search of a highly skilled, seasoned copywriter with at least 7 years of experience.

AMC Theatres has propelled industry innovation since 1920, and we continue to innovate by delivering premium sight and sound, new and improved food and beverage options, and diverse content in our state-of-the-art theatres.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Developing the creative strategy and seeing our creative vision through with well-written, compelling, guest-facing marketing
  • Writing compelling, strategic guest-facing creative copy for AMC Theatres programs, campaigns, and promotions
  • Taking ownership of projects from beginning to end
  • Ensuring quality and brand consistency, including self-editing
  • Communicating with third-party vendors/agencies on AMC Theatres’ behalf
  • Assisting in or leading brainstorming and presentations as needed and collaborating with the creative director and team on innovative campaign ideas and creative problem solving
What we need from you:
  • 7+ years in a design-driven position at an advertising agency, internal marketing department or a related company
  • The uncanny ability to lead a project from beginning to end, from the creative concept to its execution
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, with the ability to switch from one to the other seamlessly
  • Crystal-clear written communication skills that communicate our strategic intent
  • A conceptual mind and the talent to bring creative ideas to life with clever, concise, compelling copy
  • An understanding of marketing and branding principles and how they apply to our promotions
  • The ability to push for fresh, exciting ideas
  • Laser-sharp attention to detail, organization, and grammar
What we also value (preferred):
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising, communications, English, or other related degree
  • Significant professional experience in the development of concepts and writing for advertising
  • The ability to build connections with other teams and departments
  • Having experience and being comfortable leading a presentation of creative to a larger group
