  • Based in DFW but will travel to Austin/Houston 20% of the time
  • Must properly qualify new opportunities by collecting essential information to prepare for the initial site visit and scoping of work.

o Responsible for the development of detailed take-off's and creation of necessary scope of work documents necessary for the full and comprehensive project details and requirements.

o Read, review, and evaluate architectural & MEP plans to develop project scope of work which then drives the estimating process.

o Experience with exteriors and upgrades

  • Interiors experience a plus
  • Experience developing scope and estimates for client review
  • Experience sourcing materials and labor for projects
  • Experience reading, reviewing and evaluating architectural and MEP plans
  • Experience developing detailed takeoffs and necessary scope of work documents
  • Coordination of specific vendor and subcontractor site walks to facilitate effective scope development.

o Facilitates effective vendor, subcontractor and direct labor negotiation and buy out as a part of the estimating process.

o Effectively assesses, clarifies, and validates client needs through use of request for information (RFI) process.

o Works to pre-determine an estimated project schedule, scope, and budget and facilitates team members in establishing the job specifications to meet client and company objectives.

o Assembles scope of work, pricing, conditions, and qualifications and ensures proper approvals are received prior to proposal submittals.

o Provides required material submittals when required and facilitates the client approval at the direction of the Account Manager

o Responsible for delivering scope of work, material submittal, and bid proposal to Members and/or Account Managers for submission to client.

o Clearly communicates the progress of opportunities with the Account Manager.

o Maintains regular contact with assigned Account Manager to ensure they are knowledgeable of pre-established phases of the estimate in relation to projected budget, timelines, and scope of work.

o Maintains a positive relationship between the company, vendors, subcontractors, and the client.

o Builds and maintains a network of qualified vendors and subcontractors necessary to price and estimate new opportunities to ensure company is competitive.

o Participates in pre-Construction meetings with Sales, Construction, Accounting and client.

o Maintains a complete knowledge of all operations systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.


Requirements:
    • High school degree or equivalent is required.
    • A bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred.
  • 5 years' experience estimating in the Multi- Family construction industry.
  • Multi-family construction industry experience preferred.
  • Must have valid driver's license and ability to be insured by company insurance carrier.
    • Knowledgeable of technical aspects within the construction industry.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft office products.
    • Demonstrated judgment and decision-making ability.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and/or more tenured co-workers.
